Why do you write comedies?My childhood was pretty funny and I grew tired of seeing the world I grew up in depicted as dark and gritty. I'm not ignorant to the inevitability of suffering, but I'm fortunate enough to look around and find lots of joy in people, places and events.

Why did you become a writer?It wasn't a dream of mine. I wrote a book and submitted to some agents. Some got back to me. One of them was amazing and had publishers fighting over the book. Extremely lucky to be where I am.
